"Outside the Box" is my current work-in-progress premier animated short film. It is a hand drawn exploration of the universal experiences of isolation. Inspired by my own childhood in foster care, and my ongoing battle with utilizing the people within my life who are there to support me, the piece's ultimate goal is to remind us that life is not a solo adventure. Through this piece I have been able to hone in my skills in consistent figure rendering, animation basics (timing, spacing, arcs, squash & stretch, etc.), and explore metamorphic animation practices indicative of 2D animation. As I move into the post-production phase I am thrilled to see what other skills I am able to expand upon, all while planning for the next adventure.
