This project was a joy for me to complete in celebrating the LGBTQ+ community on Northwestern's campus. Working with acrylic latex paint and melding the mural into the existing decor, I decided to depict pride flags as personas woven into the piece. The core design utilizes the original Gilbert-Baker Pride Flag for the overarching ribbon, a design that melds into five stripes along the wall which wrap the entire perimeter of the resource center. Nestled into each color of the ribbon, I placed eight figures. Each of these figures was painted in correlation to the colors of a specific pride flag. The bold and graphic style of the piece relies on vibrant color and confident linework to embody a sense of pride.
